This is a very charming piece. The visual balance seems a little too heavy on the left, thought the two black bars do a lot to bring it down. The coloured planes make an interesting play in space and the female silhouettes are interesting, though I am not certain what the piece is really about.

I find the composition of this diptych to be especially successful. The slightly different cropping of the image suggests time passing and/or two perspectives - both of which give the subject more meaning. I also like that you have used a found, low resolution image. This too, adds a layer of meaning both formally and in terms of subject.
As far as “pastiche” this piece is not that successful. A deeper study of Impressionism would definitely have helped. I think you might also benefit from working out your palette a bit more since colour is so critical to this piece. But for all these things, you have still managed to create an intriguing image and that is the main thing. Well done.
